When the August, 2007 Journal of Psychological Medicine reported more than 46% of high school
students engaged in Self Injury (e.g. "cutting") in the past year, David was not surprised: his experience has led
him to work directly with adolescents who Self Injure. But when he realized no one was SPEAKING to students about these
behaviors, he was shocked and he decided to help kids understand the realities of this behavior. David's presentations
also reflect upon Anger, Violence, Bullying and ultimately, how to sucessfully deal with the difficulties in one's own
life.
David combines his passion for speaking with
another passion: Music. Using songs he's created which touch the lives of his audience in relevant and powerful ways,
David weaves music with his words to help kids realize they have CHOICES when they confront pain or anything else which may
stop them from meeting their full potential.
