After only two weeks organizing, we left on February 1, 1990, from Santa Monica, California.  I still remember putting my feet in the Pacific Ocean and wondering what things would happen in my life before I touched the Atlantic.  The opening day ceremonies became a big party as many local school children came out to see us off.  We had local and even some national press coverage and Casey Kasim MC’d the event.  My musical group, created in the past two weeks by myself and musicians I just met, played the first of many performances we would play during our nine-month journey.

There is so much I can say, write and express about the Walk, but I simply do not have the time to do so right now.  As I write these words for the launching of my new website (October, 2008) I feel inspired to (finally) put more about the Walk into words, so I may update this in the future.  You are welcome to view my pictures below.  To read more about the Walk, you may also do the following:

1) Read the book:  5 Million Footsteps: The Transcontinental Trek of the Global Walk for a Livable World written by my friend Greg Edblom
